Description

This fall advanced vocal students will join Teacher Jay Tatco-Nowak as they tackle some of the most epic music from the classic Musical Phantom of the Opera. This Mashup music class will combine the inspiring songs Think of Me, Angel of Music, All I ask of You, Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, and the Point of No Return. In order to qualify for this class students ages 12-18 must have taken a minimum of 3 prior vocal 1 classes and participated in a minimum of 2 CYT productions.

* Please note that though this is a Monday night class, the first class will take place on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025*
Prerequisite: In order to qualify for this class students ages 12-18 must have taken a minimum of 3 prior vocal classes and participated in a minimum of 2 CYT productions.

Jay Tatco-Nowak

Jay started at CYT in 2017 as both the musical director for Beauty and the Beast Jr. and a vocal teacher. Since then he has been the musical director for Scrooge, Aladdin Jr. (Vancouver), Peter Pan Jr., and Tarzan. Jay has also continued to teach classes in music, acting, and dance. Alongside teaching and directing, Jay is also a performer. He has performed in Persephone at Bedrock Theatre and in Once at Broadway Rose Theatre. Jay’s background is in Music Performance, with a Bachelors of Music degree from BIOLA University. He also serves as a worship leader/musician at his church and also does film and television acting.
