Description

Level up your vocal skills and go beyond what you knew you could. In this Intermediate/Advanced Vocals class you will work on a mash up of "Just Around the Riverbend/Out There" Join Teacher Jay Tatco-Nowak this fall as he trains students in advanced elements of stage vocals. Utilizing music from both Pocahantas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame students will learn not only how to project while singing solo parts, but also how to perfectly blend in the ensemble. By the end of the term this Intermediate/Advanced vocal class will perform their piece in the all CYT showcase entitled, "Dare to Dream Jr."
Prerequisite: Students wishing to participate in this class need a minimum of 3 prior vocal classes and be familiar with solfège

Jay Tatco-Nowak

Jay started at CYT in 2017 as both the musical director for Beauty and the Beast Jr. and a vocal teacher. Since then he has been the musical director for Scrooge, Aladdin Jr. (Vancouver), Peter Pan Jr., and Tarzan. Jay has also continued to teach classes in music, acting, and dance. Alongside teaching and directing, Jay is also a performer. He has performed in Persephone at Bedrock Theatre and in Once at Broadway Rose Theatre. Jay’s background is in Music Performance, with a Bachelors of Music degree from BIOLA University. He also serves as a worship leader/musician at his church and also does film and television acting.
