Masked Performer! Week 1 - July 14-18, Week 2 - July 21-25

Get ready to unveil your hidden talents in CYT’s brand new original camp, the Masked Performer! Join us for this outdoor summer camp for an experience unlike any before. With a fun-tastic combination of SINGING, DANCING, ACTING, and YOUR unique gifts and style, the Masked Performer is taking triple threat status all the way up to quadruple! This week will focus on specific performance techniques that will enhance your abilities as a well rounded, individual performer. We’ll be exploring age appropriate auditions, solos, monologues, and choreography, mixed in with games and activities! Don’t miss out on this high energy, super fun camp experience!

Camp Enchanted! July 28 - August 1

What do you get when you combine Heroes, Villains, Sword Fighting, Dragons and Fairy Tales? Camp Enchanted! At this CYT outdoor summer camp we’ll use the arts of singing, dancing and acting to tell  these adventurous stories! This week will focus on specific performance techniques that will enhance your abilities as a well rounded, individual performer. We’ll be exploring age appropriate auditions, solos, monologues, and choreography, mixed in with games and activities! Don’t miss out on this high energy, super fun camp experience!

*Cancellation/Refund Policy

In order to provide our patrons with excellent theatrical training and a positive experience, preparation for classes, camps, and shows begins months in advance of each session. Teachers, Counselors, and Artistic Teams are hired and trained, curriculum is written, t-shirts are ordered, and snacks are purchased, etc.  Because of this it is imperative that families make an informed decision when registering for camps and classes and purchasing tickets for productions. In order to continue to do this we have updated the CYT Portland Cancellation/Refund policy.

CAMPS:
• Registration fees for camps are non-refundable.
• All registrations must be made online at www.cytportland.org.
• Tuition must be paid in full in order to register for a CYT Portland camp.
• Camp changes (subject to availability) may be requested via email to camps@cytportland.org
  1 month prior to camp.
• Camp change requests are not guaranteed.

By registering for a CYT Portland camp the parent/guardian of the registered student acknowledges and agrees with the Cancellation/Refund Policy as listed above. Please click here for the full policy pdf.

About CYT Camps

CYT Portland offers 3 weeks of outdoor day camp for students ages 5-14. These camps are designed to create a hands-on theater experience, and are focused on building performance skills, self-confidence, teamwork, and Godly character. 

These outdoor camps include daily rotations through drama, dance, and vocal workshops run by an experienced artistic team. Students will receive links to scripts and sound tracks and be cast in their very own mini musical. Field games, water play, as well as daily theme-related devotionals are all part of the CYT camp experience. At the end of the week an impressive showcase is performed by the campers for family and friends to attend. It's a week of CYT's positive and encouraging atmosphere where students not only learn theater skills, but have the best time of their lives making  lifelong friends and building their character and confidence. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

*IMPORTANT: Parents are able to select the team that is best for their child. There is a 3-4 year range for each team so parents are able to coordinate siblings or friends within that spectrum. Spaces are limited and are on a first come first serve basis. We encourage early registration. You will receive a registration confirmation email once you have enrolled your camper with final registration forms attached to that email. Your student is not fully registered until their Google Form is complete and every camper's Website Profile is updated with all information. 

Please note: Because of our "Team" registration CYT is not accommodating friend requests this year. Parents are now able to sign up their camper and coordinate friend groups themselves.

Here is what a typical CYT Camp week looks like:

Note: This is a sample schedule. The length of our activities are adjusted based on the age group's average attention span. All of our workshops are taught through musical theater based games, hands on activities, and fun!

Camp Policies

Late Fee
Due to the fact that we rent our facilities we are unable to provide before or after care. There is a $50 late fee for campers picked up past 3:15pm

Refund Policy
Please see policy above.

Age Policy
Campers must turn the age of eligibility by Monday of the camp they wish to attend. For example, a camper must be at least 5 years old by Monday of camp in order to attend Mini camp. 

Potty Trained
All campers must be potty trained to attend camp.

Allergy Alerts
If there is a food allergy at camp all families will be alerted and will be asked not to bring in that allergen. 

Special or Specific Needs
CYT openly welcomes all children. If your child is able to function in a group/class setting, but just needs extra help or attention our counselors will work alongside them to make sure they have a phenomenal camp experience. Once registered, you will receive a form that allows you to explain any special or specific needs that your child has - the more info we have the better! That information is shared only with your child’s counselors so they can help your child have a fun and successful week of camp. If your child requires one-on-one attention and assistance we require a family member to stay with them at camp. CYT is unable to provide personal aides for campers. 

Christian Youth Theater
CYT holds to Judeo-Christian values of family, community, leadership and positive encouragement. We welcome all kids of varying faiths, backgrounds and beliefs.
