When it comes to learning how to sing, this fun, interactive class will cover all the basics! Students will learn solid singing techniques while working on an awesome Showcase song (which will have opportunities for solos if students are ready for a moment in the spotlight!). We’ll learn about breath control, what tone is and how to make ours better, the basics of projection, dynamics, and pitch, how to use our mouths and tongues to make the best sounds, and how to feel the rhythm of the music when we sing.
Will we have a whole lot of fun? You bet! But will we learn a whole lot, too? Absolutely! Our students will emerge from this class with strong singing fundamentals, ready to sing, sing, sing!

Anna Philipsen

Anna grew up in Portland, Oregon and has been a musician from a young age. At 5 she began playing the violin and continues to play to this day. Throughout high school she performed in several choirs and orchestras, including the pit orchestras for all the musicals at her high school. Anna also took drama classes and was a member of the International Thespian Society. In college she continued to pursue music classes, took vocal lessons, performed improv violin with worship teams, and taught violin lessons. In addition to a love for music, Anna has always had a passion for design. She received a BA in Graphic Design & Health Education from George Fox University. Over the years she has used her gifts in design for developing events, marketing, styling weddings, interior design, and most recently CYT sets. Anna lives with her husband Josiah and their three boys, Landon, Dash, and Clay. She currently works part-time as a Project Manager for a non-profit while also homeschooling her three boys.
