Description

Learn the fundamentals of drama and stage presence experienced through the joy of puppets! This class covers blocking, projection, stage direction, character development, and other basic principles of Drama I all through the medium of puppets. A good puppeteer is prepared to communicate the range of emotion and drama that we present in storytelling, but without the use of facial expressions and a limited range of motion. Our story takes place in the jungle and you get to help bring it to life as a puppeteer and voice actor!

Teacher:

Kiersten Krajcar

Kiersten brings over 20 years of teaching experience in class settings and church kiddo instruction and homeschool spaces to CYT's excellent learning community. As a lifelong appreciator of musical theater, she deeply believes that we are all created by a Creative creator with hearts for creating! Drama is a great venue for us as storytellers (with a wonderful story to tell!) Patience and enthusiasm with a sprinkling of joy describes Kiersten's teaching approach. The classroom is a community and when we all bring our best and respect each other well, it opens the doors to learning. Kiersten and Tim are homeschooling Sophie and Anya and nary a day goes by without music and worship in the Krajcar home. It's a delight to connect with other creative souls in CYT!
